As in most Japanese games, you'll need either a Japanese Saturn or converter. Once that's done, it won't take long to get into playing. Though, here is a quick idea on how to PLAY the game and run though some of the menus.

Well, seeing this screen is in English... Press Start.. Come on, you know how :D
1. Continue (Appears once you save game)

2. Start New Game!

3. Options

If you are a first time player, you will want to go to new game. When you go into a new game, the first thing you have to do is enter your character's name. You get 3 spaces each for your name and surname. If you understand NO JAPANESE I advise you to put an English name ^^ I've gotten alot of people asking who the main characters real name is, the books only say "Player."

This is a decision making game, so it should only be played with people who have good Japanese, but hey, if you don't, oh well! You're like me then. ^_^ We'll just assume things. You go through making choices that will effect the outcome. Example -

Saionji slaps Anthy! What do you do?

A. Go help her!

B. Stand by and watch!

What do you do? If you go and help her, you get love points (aka Nobility Points) with her (secretly, I will explain it later) and a point with Utena.

Now for what's standing in your way of making everyone love you - Chigusa. This sadistic looking women ill come along ever now and then and steal your points from characters, and trust me, that can be quite a hassle. Trust me, She may be a hottie.. but by the end of the game, she's going be known to you as the "Point stealing white-haired bitch!"

Remember, if there is any time in the game you would like to see your love points with the characters, you can always hit start and it will take you to this screen.

As you can see on the left, it has the name of the character, the percentage of how good you're doing, how many points you have with them, and a love bar that shows how much it means.

Here's a quick explanation on the option area.
